Soon after Gladys left, the container with Jesse was shoved haphazardly into Rosie's purse. He remained there for hours as the workday went by. Eventually Rosie went home, taking her purse and Jesse with her.
Roughly an hour after Rosie got home she retrieved the container from her purse. Jesse watched in disbelief as she handed it over to a 9 year old girl. The girl excitedly raised the container to her eye, staring in at Jesse. "What kind of bug is it?" She asked.
"I don't know baby, I've never seen one like it." Rosie said. "That's why I brought it to you."
The girl jostled the container lightly to get a better view of Jesse. Still not being recognized as human Jesse pounded on the side of the plastic. "Hey! I'm not a bug!" He screamed.
"It's awesome! I'm going to check it out right now!" The girl said turning to leave.
"Just be careful sweety, if it gets out in my house I'm squishing it." Rosie warned ominously.
Once inside the girl's bedroom Jesse was unceremoniously dumped from the container. He pushed to his feet on a piece of white paper under a bright lamp. The girl stared down at him with a look of curiosity.
"Hey! Little girl! I'm not a bug!" He protested as loudly as he could.
Not hearing his cries the girl produced a q-tip and began cleaning the green sauce from Jesse. He tried to push the cotton swabs away, but he was powerless against her. "Granny got you kinda dirty huh little guy." She said in a gentle voice.
After cleaning Jesse up the girl grabbed her phone and began taking numerous pictures of him. The flash was blinding leaving him unable to see. A moment after the last flash Jesse felt tweezers pinch his body.
As his vision returned he saw the girl examining him through a magnifying glass. "You're a really weird bug." She said perplexed.
"I'm not a bug!" Jesse groaned as he waved his arms back and forth.
The girl dropped Jesse back to the paper below while still holding the magnifying glass. "Only four legs, but stands on the back two." She observed under her breath.
Jesse wanted to run, but he knew she would catch him. And even if he did escape Rosie would crush him on sight. His only hope was this little girl realizing he wasn't a bug.
Suddenly the girl yawned deeply. She set the magnifying glass down and stretched in her chair. "Wait! Look closer! I'm human!" Jesse said absentmindedly rushing towards the giantess girl.
In the blink of an eye the girl's enormous hand dropped down on Jesse. He was slammed hard against the desk nearly knocking the wind out of him. "Hey, that's not nice, trying to run away." The girl said frustrated. "If you get out Granny will step on you dummy." She said picking Jesse up between her thumb and forefinger.
She dumped Jesse on the ground much to his confusion. Jesse didn't try to run, or even stand. He didn't want to upset his young captor.
The girl pushed to her feet, towering high above Jesse. "You're a really weird bug, but if you're too much trouble I'll just squish you." She said bringing her slightly dirty barefoot over Jesse.
Fighting his instinct to run away Jesse remained still until the girl lowered her foot. After her foot set down she picked Jesse up from the floor. "Good bug. I don't want to squish you." She said dropping Jesse into a small plastic box.
"I'll play with you more tomorrow." She said as she turned off her desk lamp. "I've got to go to bed."
Jesse watched as the little girl climbed in bed and quickly fell asleep. Knowing he couldn't escape he decided to sleep as well. He fell asleep quickly after such a long traumatic day.
