This choice: "Well... my kids have moved out by now, and I'm looking to fill the void..." • Go Back...Chapter #7"Well... my kids have moved out by now, and... by: Ty975 "Uh, that's a bit... sorry," the question seemed to fluster her a bit. The woman had to take a breath to compose herself before proceeding, "Well, I'm living in this huge house these days. My kids are grown up, off to or on their way out of college. They're all I had after my husband..."
Michelle paused, hesitant to acknowledge the fate of her apparently absent partner, "Anyway! It gets lonely here, and I was thinking about getting a pet. A friend suggested looking into a tiny or two, and-" She stopped, seeing the word 'pet' have a physical effect on the fearful girl. She waved her hands up, trying to dissuade Sara from misunderstanding her, "Oh no no! Sorry, not that you're a pet! I mean... that's technically how I bought you, but-" she sighed, regaining her composure again. I-I know it's a bit unorthodox, but I was hoping to kind of... adopt you."
Her smile grew into a warm, welcoming shape, emoting the sincerity behind her wish. How does Sara respond? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
