You took a deep breath and glanced around the dimly lit room as you tried to find a stone that would work as the base for your tower. You needed something large and mostly flat that you'd be able to stack other stones on top of. You could probably get away with some small boulders, though it would definitely be unstable. You could also see a couple of loose stones over in the corner you could probably use as well.
You looked down at your hands and flexed them, wincing at the pain. They were covered in scratches and your blood was darkening the dirt that stained your skin, however, it looked like most of your wounds were superficial.
You returned your gaze to the room around you, finally feeling a little more in control of yourself as you spotted a stone that would make a decent base to your tower. You slowly walked over to it, your footsteps echoing all around you. You stopped just in front of the stone and glanced to where you needed to move it to.
You wrapped your arms around it, pressing your face against the cold stone as you attempted to lift it. You grunted from the exertion but eventually managed to lift it just enough to move it under your bag, where you placed it with a loud crash.
You climbed on top and jumped up, trying to reach your bag, but you still fell short. You looked around for another stone to place on top of the one you just moved. You'd need to stack them a little taller before you'd be able to reach it.
You spent the next 20 minutes scouring the room for stones to use for your tower, and eventually, you had something tall enough that you were pretty sure you'd be able to reach your bag from. Your muscles ached from moving all the stones, but you should be able to get your bag at least.
You closed your eyes and took a couple of deep breaths as you reached out towards the small tower and placed a hand at about eye level. The tower shifted ominously before settling into position, and you carefully began climbing up. You were just about to reach the top of your makeshift ladder when your weakened muscles gave out, causing you to lose your balance and fall. You clutched at the stones as you tumbled down and landed on a stone with a hard thud.
A dull pain spread through your head as you let out a muffled groan. You tried to move but found that you couldn't move more than a couple of inches from where you were now lying. You finally turned your head so that you could see what had happened and realized that one of the loose stones had fallen on your leg, pinning it in place against the ground.
Your breathing became deeper, rhythmic breaths as panic threatened to take over again. It wasn't painful enough to be anything serious, but you were sure that your body wouldn't be able to take too much more abuse. You winced as you reached down and lifted the stone so you could get your leg out from under it, feeling a wave of nausea at how tore up your leg looked.
You grit your teeth as you pulled yourself to your feet and put pressure on your leg. It was hard to gauge how close you were to be able to walk, but you'd need a few minutes to allow the pain to subside before you'd be able to do anything too strenuous, like trying to climb your tower again.
