“I can’t believe they can do this!” Mark said furiously as he took another shot.
“Yeah…the legality here…is…well…questionable.” Jesse said. As he read over the draft letter.
“It seems like such a waste…I mean…you have been a guy all your life now they just want you to become a girl?” Sarah said.
Andrew sat there as his friends argued amongst themselves. His whole world was just spinning.
“Do I really have any choice here?” Andrew asked.
Jesse was actually studying law and was looking up everything he could on the gender draft online.
“Everything I’m seeing…says no. If you refuse it’s a federal crime. It could result is massive fines, jail times, etc. you would basically be ruining any chances you could have at a successful career.” Jesse replied.
Andrew was well aware of the gender draft and why it needed to exist. He knew several people growing up that were drafted, but this was when he was young. The draft was always good about selecting people around puberty so they could experience growing up as female and not be confused or struggle to adjust to their new sexual identity.
“It says you only have 24 hours to report to the GRF.” Jesse said. (Gender Reassignment Facility)
“Listen…no matter what we are still friends.” Mark added.
“Yeah, no matter what.” Sarah agreed.
“Why don’t we all go there together? Take you there for support?” Jesse asked.
Andrew sighed heavily and nodded. It wasn’t worth ruining his life to try and fight this. After he adjusted he would tell his parents and try to continue his normal life.
