Unsure of what to do or how to proceed you called your parents in hopes of them having an answer.
Your parents, Robert and Linda were nice people. Your mom was an accountant and your dad managed an auto repair shop. Nothing special but they were able to always provide for you and your two older brothers.
Your mom answered the phone as you began to frantically explain the situation. She patiently listened but to your surprise she didn’t sound nearly as shocked as you were…
“I’m sorry honey…your dad and I wanted to tell you sooner…but…well this isn’t just bad luck.” She began to say.
You were confused, you didn’t quite understand.
“You are our third child, and third male. The government expects at least one out of every three kids to be a female now. We had the option of changing you at birth or waiting to see if either of your older brothers was drafted. Your dad and I decided to not wait, however when neither of your brothers were drafted, we knew the government would forcibly draft you.” Your mother said.
“Why did you ever say anything?” You cried out to your mom.
“Because we wanted you to live your life. We knew there was always a chance of the draft happening, as did your brothers Mark and Jeff. We honestly began to think you were in the clear as well…it seems they just waited until the last minute.” Your mom said.
“I just…so what am I supposed to do? It says I have to be at the clinic by tomorrow morning. If I don’t show it at a felony offense.” You repeated from the letter.
“Im sorry honey…you don’t really have a choice. We still
Love you and will even as a female. If you want I can drive you myself tomorrow?” Your mom volunteered.
“No…I…have to deal with this on my own.” You said hanging up.
You couldn’t believe it…You were stuck…either give up your manhood or go on the run as a wanted felon…not much of a choice was it?
You spent the rest of the night in bed. You didn’t want to go out or do anything anymore. You had never felt this lost or alone before…
