It was a bracelet. He picked it up out of curiosity, seeing the words “Power Band” were inscribed on it, and grinned. ‘Sweet’, he thought, ‘Maybe it’ll give me real superpowers!’ His imagination went wild. He did expect it to, but it still looked cool, plus, it went with his dream superhero costume. Since he didn’t see anyone around who could’ve had it, he slipped it onto his wrist and admired it, giggling as he did.
Soon he had resumed playing, imaging that the ring gave him special powers to help fight bad guys. ‘It would be kinda cool to have super strength’, he mused, picking up rocks and imagining they were boulders. Being a giant in general could be fun. He’d made a city out of blocks before, several times actually, but couldn’t help knocking them down each time. Well, at that size, he guessed no one could stop him. Besides, he always admired big, strong superheroes, like the Hulk and the Thing. Even superstrong villains like Juggernaut, the Blob, and Bane were cool.
Not long afterwards though, he heard his father calling, “Sport! It’s getting late, time to come in!” Chase pouted, but obliged, wishing he was bigger so evil adults wouldn’t tell him what to do anymore.
