You might be a badass. but you admit to yourself that you're still a novice, and as such, you're not a take on a ankheg all by yourself badass.
So you decided to form a party of other novices who excelled in their specialty at the Academy, the same as you did in yours.
There's Sylvexia, a female wood elf ranger, who may not be as good as swordswoman as you, but is unequaled with the bow and woodcraft.
Next is Borenkisk, a male tabaxi monk. The tabaxi's wanderlust, combined with his order's stoicism gets on some people's nerves...a lot of people's nerves, actually...but you two have always had a connection, if only for the fact that he's one of the few males who's never hit on you.
Then there's Wranda, an olive skinned human priestess from one of your world's equatorial islands. She's an acolyte of one of her people's goddesses, the one who manages the cycles of life and nature. Wranda is an expert at healing, both natural and supernatural, and has the most intriguing sing song accent
Next up is Janna, a half elf sorceress who is an absolutely gorgeous blonde and who is absolutely terrified to be in any social situation. But when it comes to anything to do with her craft, she is absolutely fearless.
And finally there is Braddit, a male human bard,. Braddit is, in a word, a dog. He will hit on any woman in range that is even mildly attractive, as long as doing so doesn't endanger his hide. He hits on you and Wranda constantly, but his doing so is strictly pro forma, as he doesn't expect either of you to respond. The only person Braddit doesn't hit on is your mutual friend Janna, who he treats as a treasured little sister and will defend fiercely. Braddit is a decent enough fighter, though he's not up to your standards. He's quite adept with the tools of the thieving trade, and there isn't a musical instrument made that Braddit doesn't seem to have mastered. He's never been to a tavern where he doesn't have at least one friend, and his voice and musical talent guarantee free lodging and a few coins at any inn he stops at.
The six of you plan to meet at an inn and tavern called The Whiny Cur, a day's ride to the north of the city. You arrive at The Whiny Cur first. As your waiting in the common room, who arrives next?
