You were somewhat surprised to see just over a dozen others in the store. Some were clearly of the more armed and armored sort, while others didn't bother with armor, or weapons even, and still others were spellcasters. Name a class, one seemed to be there. As for race and gender - rough split down the middle, male/female, although some like the changeling and warforged were tricky to figure out, and as for race there was a variety. There was -
Changeling Mystic, Warforged Fighter, Simic Hybrid Druid, Loxodon Bard, Tabaxi Blood Hunter, Lizardfolk Rogue, Hobgoblin Ranger, Aarakocra Monk, Goliath Artificer, Kenku Barbarian, Satyr Warlock, Tortle Wizard, Yuan-Ti Paladin, and a halfling-sized frog-like Grung Cleric.
The way the Grung was dressed had you somewhat concerned. There was a Holy Symbol on their armor, one associated with a temple of healing. Problem was, everyone knew that Grung, much like certain frogs, were poisonous to be touched by. One that was a healer, just seemed odd.
The Grung looked at you. "Gloves help," they said, raising a glove-covered hand.
"Oh, okay," you said. "Just don't expect one of your sort to be a Cleric."
"Nothing stopping me," they said. "Strong enough to wear the Heavy Armor. Call me Green."
"Taren. Um, don't you guys need water?" you asked.
"Given where we're going, that won't be an issue," Green said. "Though sewer water is not my favorite form of water."
"Right," you said.
Soon enough, you had gotten, and taken, the potion, and had picked up everything else you'd needed, as did the others.
The others looked at you.
"Looks like we have the full set," said the Tortle.
"I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one taking the zombies on," you said.
"Only fools take on zombies alone," said the hobgoblin. "Individually, they are weak, but in a group, they can be formidable."
The elephant-like loxodon gave you a stone. "Keep this on you. It's one of those Sending Stones."
You looked at it. "Thought that we wouldn't be taking them on alone."
"Well, we are trying to figure out a plan of approach, on if we should stay in one group, split into two one of eight, one of seven, or three of five, or five groups of three, or sis pairs, and one being a group of three," said the Tabaxi. "Kind of an even split at the moment, although if you voted for the Pairs idea, we'd be all tied up."
"You're letting me have the final say?" you asked.
"Cons and Pros," the warforged said. "Big group, better help in case of trouble, but less ground covered. Small group, more ground covered, but more trouble if things get too dangerous."
"Still, you're letting me pick?" you asked.
"Sometimes you have to trust someone," said the Aarakocra.
"Alright," you said. "I pick -"
