“No!” Tommy screamed. “No, I don’t wanna do it! You can’t make me! I’m sick and tired of you putting me through those dumb experiments! I hate how you made me look like a colorful eyesore when you made slipped that stupid chemical in my drink! I hate how I couldn’t find my best set of clothes! Everyone laughed at me because of you! I don’t wanna do your dumb experiments!”
Brianna looked like her heart broke from her little brother’s outburst. “Okay, Tommy, I won’t test my experiments on you.” Brianna reached into her pocket and dug her hand in and deeper. She opened her pocket and looked in. “Shoot, I forgot my cleaning rag. Tommy, can you go downstairs and see if you can find my rag?”
Tommy huffed. “Fine, I’ll find your rag for you.”
Tommy went down to the basement where Brianna’s laboratory was built in the basement. The lab was like any typical science lab, with sterilized floors, chemistry sets, and inventions that was years ahead of anyone else at Brianna’s age. Past through all that was a special chamber where the testing for anything science-like happened, where Tommy was forced to endure those tests. On a certain reclining bed, there was a small rag Brianna used to clean her glasses.
Tommy stepped into the chamber to retrieve the rag for Brianna when all of a sudden, the chamber doors closed and automatically locked. The central light of the chambers switched on, the electricity hummed and crackled, and the side lights began to glow brighter. Tommy screamed and tried to open the doors, slamming on the glass.
“Hey! Someone! Help me!”
Even if someone had heard Tommy’s pleas for help, they wouldn’t have made it in time because the lights flashed as brightly as a camera. Tommy’s screams echoed as the flash sent a searing heat through his entire body. When the flash over, Tommy was enveloped in smoke as the machines died down. The doors opened, releasing the smoke.
Tommy emerged out of the smoke, coughing and wheezing, fanning away the fumes. He stepped outside of the chamber and fell flat on his face. When he looked up, wondering why the step was different over his throbbing face, Tommy screamed.
“What happened!? Why is everything so big!?” Tommy yelled. “Wait a minute, everything didn’t get big, I must have shrunk!” Then Tommy remembered a certain key point in Brianna’s experiment earlier when she tackled him for a bear hug.
“Wait a minute! Brianna’s shrinking experiment! It must have gone off when I stepped inside and now I’m the size of a bug!” Tommy felt a urge of anger rise inside him. “That stupid big sister of mine! She must have done this on purpose! When I get back to normal size, I’m gonna really lay it out on her!”
Just then, someone from upstairs who heard the commotion descended downstairs.
Who was it?
