Diana stepped out into the play area, where all of the Pokemon under her care spent most of their time. She smiled sadly to herself, thinking about how pathetic it was that these Pokemon were like her only family now, even if the time they spent with her was short. She knew each and every one that was left in her care, by name, and knew just about every detail of their personality by heart.
As she thought this, however, she noticed something strange: There were less Pokemon out here than she remembered? Where had those little ones all gone? And as she began to look around, she noticed that several of the Pokemon that were still visible seemed... very full. They were all lounging about lazily, most of them sporting enlarged bellies and seeming very satisfied with themselves, licking their lips as though already thinking about their next meals.
"What on Earth..." she mused to herself, noting that it seemed she wouldn't need to feed them anymore for a bit with stomachs like that. She moved on, looking for the missing Pokemon, not seeing how some of those stomachs were moving ever so slightly, or how the other Pokemon were starting to look at each other with hungry eyes.
After about an hour of searching, Diana heard something outside. Rushing back to see what the commotion was, she froze in horror at the sight before her: the Pokemon were eating each other, ravenously gulping each other down in ways that shouldn't have been possible. The main three seeming to be doing the bulk of the eating were a large Garchomp, a wily Rapidash, and a particularly playful Hatterene. Diana felt her stomach drop as she watched them eating their playmates, who strangely didn't seem to resist at all. When the Rapidash looked at her and licked her lips, she got her nerve back and ran inside, calling the police immediately.
The authorities on their way, Diana peeked outside just in time to see that one Pokemon had become the victor of the three, in the process of swallowing down the last one...
