Sasha now knew why Jessica was crying. Sasha was sad at first after knowing that she was going to swap with Stuart. But after knowing Jessica's situation, she felt relieved but also felt bad for her.
After a while everyone was told to reveal the person whose name was on the paper. All female employees had the same reaction as Sasha after hearing that Jessica was going to swap with John. John was also shocked. He himself wasn't happy. Some swaps were wild like Jessica & John, Claire & Caleb, Steven & Ruby. Girls were devastated but everyone hold their feelings. Other swaps were Luke & Kiran, Stuart & Sasha, Mark & Laura, Alex & Charlotte, Rashid & Mona. Everyone was baffled but after hearing those drastic swaps they were somewhat relieved.
Elizabeth started talking after everyone settled down. She told Jessica and John to follow her to the next room where the experiment was going to be conducted. Jessica was now less emotional than before. She followed John to the room where Elizabeth took them. She was looking at John while going there. John was always on good terms with Jessica but he was totally opposite of what Jessica was. She couldn't digest that she was going to live the life of a 42 year old janitor. They entered the room where two similar pods were kept with all the wires connected to it. There were two more people who also looked like scientists. One of them started speaking. He said, "Thank you for taking part in our experiment. We will start in a while. But first I have a suggetion for you. After reading both of your profiles, I think you'll need different traits to live each other lives. This machine will only swap your life. You'll physically remain the same. But you need to have each other's traits to make it easy for you. But I can only swap one physical or mental trait between you. You both should decide what do you want from each other."
