After making her way downstairs, Emma approached Liz behind the help desk. "Hiya luv, sorry to the bearer of bad news but me and you have to take part in Gemma's customer service and etiquette course." she said to the assistant manager.
"Wonderful!" Liz sighed sarcastically as she looked up from the stock inventory she was going over.
"Yes, she wants us upstairs in groups of four, but she assures me it won't take us away from our duties for too long. I think it involves everyone watching a DVD and listening to her speak for a short time. Shouldn't take more than 15 or 20 minutes for each group." Emma explained. "And I was thinking you'd probably want to go up first to get it over and done with?" she added, hoping she didn't annoy Liz too much.
"I suppose so," Liz mumbled in response, before putting her paperwork down and looking at Emma. "And you'll be going up with the last group, right Emma?" she asked, sounding slightly impertinent.
"I haven't decided yet, I might go up in the second group yet." Emma answered, ignoring Liz's tone under the circumstances.
Liz sighed again, looking around. "Okay, so who should I take up with me?" she asked.
Emma shrugged. "I'll leave that up to you, just pick three staff members and head on up to the Training Room." she smiled, patting Liz's arm before walking away from the help desk to check on things in the Goods Inwards area.
"Great start to the week." Liz grumbled to herself and shaking her head gently as she wondered which three employees to take upstairs with her.
