Holly was looking more than a little distracted while sat behind reception in Beautylicious. She had her head down and was inspecting something, while her boss Carly, wearing a short-sleeved pink salon tunic, black boot-cut slacks and a pair of black leather 3-inch stiletto pumps, was busy putting the finishing touches to a client's manicure. Of course, reception was where Holly seemed to be most of the time now, but she was at least thankful to still have a job after Lash Academy had closed it's doors. Zoe had taken Holly with her back to Beautylicious when Carly offered them both jobs. Now here she was, working under Carly and Zoe, and her other co-workers were Hannah and a certain lesbian American by the name of Nat, who used to work at Wilko.
"Holly!" Zoe's voice suddenly called out as she walked over in her 3-inch heeled black patent pumps. Holly looked up at her former employer now co-worker, the tall brunette looked as professional as ever, her stylish shoes complimented by a knee-length and form hugging black pencil skirt and a red short-sleeved blouse. Zoe was wearing her dark brown hair in a plait today that was hung over her left shoulder.
"Yes?" Holly replied, a little startled by the sudden mention of her name.
"What are you looking at?" Zoe giggled slightly as she approached.
Holly shook her head gently. "Nothing, just deep in thought." She lied, as she slipped a certain remote looking device back into her handbag. "What is it?" She then smiled, noticing the piece of paper in one of Zoe's manicured hands.
"I need you to pop down to Wilko luv and buy a few things. We're out of several lipsticks and nail polishes and we need some more wax strips." Zoe said, as she held out her hand and let Holly take the shopping list from her.
"Hm, okay." Holly just nodded, opening the paper up and looking at it. Zoe's handwriting was not as easy to read as Carly's, but she could make out the items that the salon needed. Holly stood up and grabbed her handbag/purse, putting it over her shoulder. Then she inspected her appearance briefly. Holly herself was dressed in a white short-sleeved blouse, a plaid skirt, black tights and a pair of black suede ankle boots with 2-inch block heels. As usual, she wore her ash blonde hair in twin plaits.
"Here's the money." Zoe smiled, handing Holly a £20 note before clicking off in her heels to find Nat and ask her to make some coffee.
Holly slipped the money in her purse and gave her boss Carly a quick smile before leaving.
Once outside, Holly looked sykwards, took in a breath of fresh air, and started walking down towards towards Wilko. Along the way, she dug into her handbag and pulled out the remote looking device she had been inspecting earlier. A curious smile formed on her pretty face as she thought of the possibilities. The device had arrived at her apartment that morning by anonymous mail, with a note inside the package explaining what it was. A 'Trait Exchanger Device' or TED for short. The note explained that the device could swap people's traits and clothing without them noticing. But it also mentioned that in rare occurrences, somebody else other than the wielder might notice the swaps. Of course, Holly was still sceptical, but as she got near Wilko, her curiosity was biting hard and she just had to know if the device actually worked.
