This choice: Richard visiting the awesome store • Go Back...Chapter #3Richard visiting the awesome store by: Dopple   Richard drove to the Elmore mall parking structure. It was almost empty as many of the mallgoers parked in the area in the front of the mall. Though for Richard he was okay with that as he wasn’t there to enter the mall. Once in the middle level he parked and exited out his car. He looks around and not finding what he was looking for at first making him sad. But that changes when he saw the large red van in his sight making him become excited. He watches as the side door opens up and then he sees a pair of glowing eyes peering through the darkness inside the van. “Ah, if it isn’t one of my favorite customers. Welcome back Mr. Watterson. You planning to browse and shop around my shop?“. Richard replies, “You bet I am!”. The figure with eyes only revealed chuckles and says, “Well then... come on in”. Then a pair of shadow like arms reached out and grabbed the large pink bunny pulling him into the van.
It was completely dark until there was light making it visible to see around Richard. The inside of the van was much larger as Richard looked like he was inside a shop instead of a vehicle. He walks around picking up a few things like a comic for Gumball, a new fish bowl for Darwin, couple of dolls for Anais, and a bunch of appliances that he and Nicole could use or to be more specific he would most likely use. It was then he saw something under a spotlight catching his eye. It looked like a shooting device with a couple of various buttons that fueled Richard’s imagination by looking at it. “*gasp* A ray gun! I always wanted one. How much is it?”. The “store” owner’s eyes grew bigger from shock then saying, “Wait... how did that get there. I’m sorry but that is not for sale”. Richard quickly replies, “I’ll give you twenty five dollars”. “I assure you, you don’t want this”. “Awww. How about 50?”. The store owner was struggling but he kept saying no. “100!”. The figure couldn’t resist the money offered and says, “Deal!”. Richard quickly took out a hundred dollars plus extra for the other items he picked out. Richard then pulls on the van door nearby exiting from the larger space contained in the van to back to inside the parking structure. “Pleasure doing business with you Mr. Watterson”. Richard walks away looking mesmerized by the device thinking it was a toy ray gun while walking toward his car. The awesome store owner watches as Richard drives away then talks to himself. “Hmm... was it the right call to let him purchase the device? After all that device causes many effects when used”. He chuckles a bit then says, “I’m sure he won’t be able to figure out what it can based on his “intelligence”. It was then he can hear police sirens coming toward him where he says, “Oh man... not again”.
Richard made it back home and parked in front of the house. He makes his way inside the house where he sees his kids watching tv. “I’m home!”. Gumball, Darwin, and Anais all yell out “Dad!” then give him a hug. Richard then presents his gifts to them where they notice they were knockoffs. “These are all from the awesome store aren’t they?”. Richard replies, “Yeah... what’s wrong? Don’t you like them?”. They shrug and accept his gifts. Nicole comes in to greet her husband then asks, “You didn’t pay too much for those things, did you?. Richard eyes the “ray gun” then looks back at Nicole and goes, “Noooo...”. Nicole just sighs and continues cleaning around the house. Richard immediately went to his bedroom and started changing. When he came back out, he was wearing only a cape, his underwear, and old fish bowl of Darwin’s to use as a space helmet giving his visual interpretation of a space hero. This surprised his kids and they watch in embarrassment as he role plays pointing in one direction and says, “Take this you evil aliens!”. He pulls on the trigger of the device but nothing happens. He was concerned and pulls the trigger some more and even shakes it but still nothing happens. Gumball has a disappointed look on his face as he says, “Well that was a waste of money”. Richard lets out a sigh his ears drooping then says, “Aww. The awesome store always has great things. Why didn’t it work?”. He then looks at Gumball handing the device to him and says, “Here, son. Can you get rid of this for me? I’m gonna go in the kitchen and fill my sadness with donuts. Gumball and Darwin watch as Richard slumps away toward the kitchen.
Gumball examines the device while Darwin asks, “I wonder why the thing didn’t work”. Gumball notices a slot what looks to be where the batteries are placed. He opens it up to see the problem as the battery inside wasn’t fully slotted in. Once pressed in the device started lighting up and seems to be functioning. “Look! It’s working now. We should tell Mr. Dad” Darwin says excited. Gumball replies, “Dude... I don’t think this is a ray gun. It probably does something else“. Darwin rubs his flipper under his chin and says, “Why don’t you press one of those buttons and see what they do”. Gumball thought about and agrees to press one of the buttons with no labels having no idea what any of them do in which he pressed....
