Later than evening, while everyone else was distracted. Chara snuck inside Toriel and Asgore’s room. Not turning on a light to avoid being noticed inside.
Chara glanced around the bookshelf across from the bed. Trailing his hand along the books, he couldn’t make out most of the text due to the darkness, but he was looking for all the thicker covered books along the middle and higher shelves.
“C’mon… where is it…?” Chara’s hand finally gripped a book too large for his hand to wrap around its edge. “Found it!”
With a mighty heave, Chara slid the book off the shelf and nearly dropped it onto the floor. Balancing it on one knee before getting it in both hands.
“Perfect.”
Taking a peak out from the bedroom, Chara snuck through the house made it out towards the ruins. Hiding up a top of the stairwell overlooking the city.
Chara opened the book, and began flipping through the pages bit by bit for what felt like forever. Until he landed on a spell that interested him.
“Reality Warp…?” Chara read aloud. “Alter your size without anyone noticing, let alone remembering.”

With a flash from the paper, the crystal appeared floating in mid-air above the book. Before it fell towards the ground. Chara jumped and grabbed the crystal before it hit the book and held it in his hands. Its aura reflecting in his eyes as he felt it almost pulsating in his palms.
Chara sat up, looking back at the book. “No words needed… just hold the crystal and imagine your reality.”
Chara stood up, and thought for a moment.
“How much taller should I get… maybe… an inch, or maybe half a foot?” Chara pondered, before settling on just a few inches, just to see if it could work.
Chara felt the crystal’s aura increase in strength. Chara looked away, but then the aura faded. Chara stood and looked around, everything looked virtually the same. With the exception of Chara’s size being roughly 10% larger.
“Huh… I hardly felt a thing. I thought it’d be more exhilarating…” Chara sighed. “Maybe I should—”
