Without warning, the little girl reached out her hand to grab the small boy. Barii tried to fly away, but he wasn’t fast enough. The little girl grabbed him out of the air. Before he knew it, she held him inches from her smiling face.
“So cute!” she said.
Barii slightly blushed.
“Uh, th-thank you,” the tiny boy said.
“My name is Mary!” the girl said, “What’s yours?”
“Umm… I’m Barii,” the tiny fairy said.
“Hello Barii!”
The little girl grabbed the small pile of coins and put them in a bag. “Thank you for finding my coins for me!” she said.
Without another word, Mary pat Barii’s tiny head with her index finger.
“My mommy always said fairies bring people good luck!” Mary added, “Can you bring me good luck?”
Barii was confused. “Fairies don’t bring good luck,” he said.
“Don’t you grant people wishes?” the little girl asked.
“No,” Barii said.
“Well… what CAN you do?” she asked.
“Umm… I can fly?”
Mary looked unimpressed. Barii got a little worried.
“Well you’re gonna be my pet, then!” the girl said.
Barii was shocked. “P-pet?? No no! Please let me go! I need to get home to my mama!”
“No! You’re my pet now and that’s final!” Mary demanded.
The little girl tightened her grip on the fairy.
