John's mother finished reading and looked at the tube all over. There had to be more than that, some sort of number to call or something. But to her surprise, that was the only text on the glue aside from the name of the brand.
"Well, there's got to be something we can do," John's mom proclaimed as she put the glue down, "come on, let's go try some nail polish remover."
With that, John's mother dragged him out of his room and the two went into the bathroom where they got the nail polish remover out of the cabinet and poured it onto the paperweight that kept them together.
A few minutes passed, all the while the two of them just sat in silence, thinking nothing except how this had to work. Neither of them would be able to make it a full year stuck with each other, there are just too many issues that would arise.
"Mom," John finally spoke up, "I don't think this is doing anything."
"Well, we just need to give it more time!" His mother responded in denial, despite the fact that she was just thinking the same thing. "What were you thinking anyway? Didn't you read that warning label?"
"I swear it wasn't there earlier!" John explained, "It was just a tube of glue claiming to be magic, I had to prove it wrong!"
"Well, it looks like you were the one proven wrong, and here you are paying for it." John's mother finished telling him. "If this isn't going to work we need to either think of something else, or get back to dinner."
