This choice: Lincoln goes downstairs to meet the girls. • Go Back...Chapter #6Lincoln goes downstairs to meet the girls. by: G-Breaker   Lincoln had left Lisa's room just as she started fixing it. "Ohh, I hope this isn't going to be one of those days where things just go from bad to worse for me." Lincoln said, walking down the stairs to meet Lisa's guests. He sat in the living room for a few minutes waiting for them to arrive. After some time, Lincoln heard the doorbell ring signaling that it was time to let them in.
Lincoln then walked to the front door and opened it to find two cute, 4-year old, little girls in front of him. Darcy was a dark-skinned girl with short, dark-brown hair wearing a sleeveless cyan shirt with a pink flower on it, yellow shorts, pink socks, and white LED light-up sneakers. As for Charlotte, she also had dark-skin and reddish-brown hair tied into pigtails. She also wore a burgundy dress with a pink heart on the front of it, along with a pair of long socks with dark and light purple stripes and a pair of pink boots. The white haired boy took one look at them and saw that they both looked really cute, which caused him to give them a pleasant look, much to their joy.
"Well, hello there." Lincoln greeted with a friendly smile.
"Hi. Are you Lisa's big brother?" Darcy asked while maintaining her cheerful smile.
"Yep. And you two must be Lisa's friends who are here for her play date. Come on in." Lincoln said as the girls entered into the living room. As he closed the door, the girls walked into the living and wondered where Lisa was, since they were supposed to play with her today.
"Um, where's Lisa?" Darcy asked in confusion.
Lincoln nervously went up to them to deliver the news. However, he couldn't tell them everything since he was worried about how they would react. "She just up in her room working on one of her science projects. And she didn't want to be bothered at the moment." Lincoln answered.
Unfortunately, Darcy didn't like what she heard as she was really looking forward to playing with her friend. "But, I thought we were going to play today." Darcy said as her eyes were beginning to tear up.
"Yeah. I want to play with Lisa too!" Charlotte said as she grew unhappy as well.
Lincoln walked up to them and got down on one knee to meet them at eye-level. "It's alright girls. Lisa does want to play with you two. She'll just need a little time and then she'll come down here to meet you okay?" Lincoln said while patting Darcy and Charlotte on the shoulders with a warm, caring smile on his face. It helped the two of them to slightly calm down as they saw Lincoln's face and were enamored by how nice he was to them.
"Okay. I guess I can wait." Darcy said with a sigh. "Me too." Charlotte added in agreement.
"Thanks, Lisa's brother." Darcy said as she began to smile again.
"Don't mention it. And by the way, you can just call me Lincoln. My Mom asked me to stay here and look after you girls, so if you need anything, you can just ask me, alright."
"Okay, Lincoln." Darcy replied. "I'm Darcy."
"And my name is Charlotte Yang." Charlotte greeted. "I like your white hair, Lincoln."
"Thanks, Charlotte." Lincoln said with his hands still on their shoulders. However, he quickly felt a small pain on his hand as he looked and saw Charlotte playfully biting him. "Ow! Uhh, Charlotte. What are you doing that for?"
Lincoln managed to get his fingers free from Charlotte's jaw, only to finally notice that she had three big teeth sticking out of her upper lip. Darcy giggled as she thought it was kind of funny. "Sorry Lincoln. Charlotte's a bit of a biter."
"I can see that." Lincoln said as she shook the pain off of his fingers.
"Can we play with Lisa now, Lincoln?" Charlotte begged impatiently.
Lincoln had assumed that Lisa was still probably working on her machine and didn't think now was the best time to disturb her. So he decided to play it safe for now and entertain the girls like he promised Lisa. "Actually Charlotte, I don't think now is a good time to bother Lisa. She's still a little bit busy with her project." Lincoln said.
Darcy thought about it and didn't want to go home without playing. She then took a look at Lincoln and saw how nice he was being to them and it made her want to hang out with him instead. "Hey Lincoln, why don't you play with us instead?" Darcy asked.
"I don't know, Darcy. I'm just babysitting you guys today." Lincoln replied.
"We want to play with Lisa. But if she's busy, we can wait for her, right Charlotte?" Darcy asked.
"I guess so." Charlotte answered.
"Well if it makes you girls feel better. I could go check on Lisa for you and see if she's ready." Lincoln replied. But the girls wanted to play right away and Lincoln thought maybe hanging out with them wouldn't be so bad. But still, they were supposed to play with Lisa not with him and he didn't want to take this chance away from her as it would be beneficial for Lisa's social skills.
