Many years ago, you had been family friends with Caitlin. While a few years apart, you were closer in age than any of the other friend so you guys would hang out.
Being a shy kid growing up, Caitlin was the confident outspoken one thanks to her years of martial arts training. She would brag about the medals she earned from competitions. A fond memory was when you both were teens and you were hanging in her room. You sat on her bed while she demonstrated the routine that won her gold.
In her black sleeveless gi, she danced along her floor, executing precise moves. She would roar during moves with such intensity in her eyes, you got hypnotized. Suddenly she chambered some kicks and slapped your face back and forth with her barefoot. Finishing you with a push kick that made you grunt and laid you on your back. Many times, Caitlin would randomly beat you up with her taekwondo skills, furthering her mastery with the art. While she saw it as harmless fun, you developed a sick enjoyment from it.
Years Later
You were watching a behind the scenes for wonder woman when Caitlin was listed as her stunt double. You were shocked as she was a close friend years back but you drifted apart, with only yearly birthday wishes.
You pop her a text, and await a reply. A day goes by and your heart sinks, thinking she forgot about you when suddenly a facetime request pops up. You frantically answer to Caitlin.
She seems ecstatic about you reaching out and she invites you to a dojo to catch up for a bit. She jokes about giving you a free lesson.
At the Dojo
You enter and see Caitlin flipping and tricking across the floor. You're stunned as she notices you come in. Exchanging hugs, she plops on the floor and stretches while asking life questions.
You bring up how she use to beat you up and now she made a career out of it. She laughs and stands up, prepping to kick you when she bursts into laughter apologizing.
She was messing with you and was sorry about all the beatdowns, no matter how fun it is to kick people in the face.
