My name is Jessie Benton. I was an only child, though not for lack of trying on the part of my parents. Ah, well; it gave me a better chance of getting into the college of my choice.

College is where my story really begins. I went in hoping to learn a thing or two about myself, and I learned much more than I imagined. I took a course that I thought would be a joke, and it ended up changing my life.

My story begins before I took that Gender Studies class, back when I still had so much to learn. Back when I was a boy...
