1) Phasing: From J'onn the Martian Manhunter, just his phasing ability, to walk through objects and become intangible. Would other aspects of J'onn's power (shapeshifting, flight and telepathy) gradually develop later?
2) Tentacles!!!: From various horror and/or hentai. Tentacles sprout from Nick's body and lash out, at first not under his control! Heavily dependent on his emotions at the time, and mostly it only happens when he is emotionally intense. Will they be vicious, lashing out at those that offend or hurt him? (From horror movies) Or will they strike out and 'play' with girls who catch his eye? (From Hentai monster series) Hopefully he gains come control over this later on.
3) Evolution: From a miscellaneous horror movie. He gradually finds he can evolve and change his own body, to begin with in response to things that happen to him, but later under conscious (if convoluted and awkward) control. If he burns his hand his skin becomes thicker and resistant to heat etc. Falls into a pool finds he grows gills on his neck etc. Can be powerful and weird, but tends towards Gigerish visuals, ribbed alien horrific effects unless he really focuses on the look he is aiming for, at least later when/if he can control it. Note, until he can control this the effects are permanent! He could end up looking pretty freakish!
4) Genius: From Tony Stark; Ironman. You start getting visions of inventions, possibilities, creations. You are such a genius! And you know it! Literally his ability to invent almost anything given time and resources. Not necessarily iron man armor, but pretty much anything he can come up with. A more realistic power (for various meanings of 'realistic'), but very capable. Heavily dependent on what he can get ahold of either actual samples of tech or scientific papers to 'inspire' him. Could go in so many different directions.
