You chastised yourself for a what you now considered a pretty dumb idea. Who goes to the laundry room to meet people?
The only people you’d meet at the laundry room would be people who went there to do their laundry, and then leave, and that was the best case scenario.
Drawing attention to yourself in the laundry room could be the quickest way to joining one of your neighbour’s wardrobe if you ended up drawing the notice of the wrong woman. Or possibly even without drawing their attention, should one of the accidents that all too easily seem to befall tiny guys like yourself were to happen.
With that idea scrapped, you thought of where else you could go to meet new people.
Going to the outdoor pool seemed like a good idea at first, but you often had bad luck around sunbathing women. Also, of all the places you could visit, it was the place you would most likely be accused of being a pervert when you approached one of the women there.
The gym was probably a bad idea as well, people would likely be too focused on their workouts to even notice you. It would be all too easy for you to get crushed by a woman mid workout and be carried off with her when she finished, while she was none the wiser.
The sauna is another place you wouldn’t be likely to get noticed, and you didn’t exactly feel like melting into a puddle to get sat on by an unaware woman again…
No, if you were going to meet someone new to make friends with, you had to go and do it in a place where people were doing stuff they would find fun. Which is why the arcade was the perfect place to go!
Meeting someone at the arcade would guarantee you’d have something in common with them, so it would be all the easier to make friends with them.
The lingering thoughts of the trio of teenage troublemakers did worry you, but it was a school day, surely they wouldn’t be around. And even if they were there, you could surely avoid them with the arcade being so dark.
You decided to go and get dressed and ready to head out in an effort to get ahead of any doubts over your plan that could enter your thoughts at any moment.
You, like most tiny guys, had pretty serious reservations about interacting with normal sized women in environments that weren’t tailored for people of your size. So you were starting to feel the anxiety that you had come to expect from deciding to go ahead with your plan and wanted to go through with it before it got any worse.
You quickly got dressed, and grabbed everything you thought you might need at the arcade.
As you moved to the door to leave, you caught a glimpse of your overflowing laundry basket, and the thought that you really should catch up with your domestic tasks entered your mind.
Should you really go out and try to talk to some random strangers and bond with them, putting yourself at risk for the prospect of making a new friend?
Maybe it was just a sense of anxiety causing these thoughts to cross your mind, but you suddenly wanted nothing more than to go to the laundry room, keep your head down, and not put yourself in any danger today.
What do you decide?
1) You decide to not let your fears get the better of you, and head off to the arcade. Hopefully there will be some friendly neighbours there. Your laundry can wait till tomorrow.
2) Your feelings of anxiety get the better of you, you decide to go do your laundry, trying to keep a low profile as you do so.
3) You decide that you don’t want to risk going to the arcade, but also that the communal laundry room is a bad idea as well. You suddenly get the idea to ask Sarah if you could use hers. Sure, picking your laundry out of Sarah’s and Vicky’s clothes would probably be a massive pain, but at least you wouldn’t risk joining either of their wardrobes… right?
