Suzuki Satoru let out a sigh as he looked around the abandoned tomb once so full of life and vigor now only occupied by him and his friends NPCs. Of course he knew the reason the game was set to end any minute now and no one wanted to put progress into something which wouldn't matter. Not to mention the real world things his friends had to deal with. It just made for a perfect soup of loneliness.
"Only four more minutes…it was great.." He muttered as he briefly looked at his inventory, it was full of random junk that he just had on him. Suzuki was a collector at heart. You could ask his wallet and it would scream in pain in agreement. His inventory was chock full of cash shop items, many useless besides being nice baubles.
One that caught his eye was a super controversial item on launch but was soon forgotten in the many piles of trash called cash shop items.
It was simply called "New Game Plus" . It had a very simple premise. You would delete your current character gear and anything in your inventory. Then you could pick any NPC and play as them from the start of the game.
It was a rather useless item for a MMO as why would you ever abandon your main account to play as your NPC? Maybe if you wanted to feel weak again? But if that was the case then why don't you just make a new account and remake your NPC in the character menu…it was a useless item if not for simple fact you were given a lot more freedom when you make a NPC then your character and one of the biggest draw of this was that fact. The item wasn't bought often but when it was it was because of two different groups:
Collectors and creepy old dudes who wanted to play as their oppai loli NPC…as you weren't allowed to play as opposite genders in fear of people purposely just making sex accounts even if R18+ actions are a bannable offense it wouldn't take long for trolls and hackers to get past it.
Looking at this item in his inventory, made a rare figurative smile appears on him…Suzuki remembered when the game's end seemed so far…now…it was at its door
Once more Suzuki let out a sigh
"Is there much point?" He muttered as he stared at the icon in his inventory before tapping his long skeletal finger onto it.
With a loud whoosh a large blue menu appeared in front of his face, it was rather simple interface though a bit immersion breaking
"Hmm? What's this?" Suzuki said as he tilted his head at the incredibly long drop down menu listing all of the NPCs in Nazarick at the very top was a striking option
"Random"
"There is only a few more seconds of this world…why not," He muttered as he deftly tapped it
Suddenly pixels began flying everywhere the world around him began swirling as this happened Suzuki could see what it landed on and it was____ before suddenly he found himself in green field…and everything felt much more real
