A micro in the elephant graveyard

You couldn’t be sure of where you were. It seemed to be a vast wasteland filled with bones. But not the bones of humans, these bones belonged to something much bigger. You cursed your small size. If you were as big as a normal person you could more easily traverse this landscape, but being only two inches tall you were constantly having to find a better route for your size. As you ran around and climbed over rocks, you heard something. It was a cackle that sent a shiver down your spine. You could tell that it belonged to a hyena and not wanting to be food, you ran in a direction which you thought would take you the furthest from it. But your calculations were disastrously wrong and what you thought was the opposite direction happened to be the direction that would lead you right to it. You looked behind you as you ran. Pretty soon you ran straight into the hyena’s paw and fell on your butt. Shenzi, the hyena who you were desperate to get away from, looked down at you with a sinister smile. You gulped as she once again let out that terrifying laugh. “Well well well, it looks as though I’ve found myself some dinner” her voice was dripping with hunger as she circled you. You immediately fell to your knees and pleaded for your life. “Please no! Surely I can be of use to you in some other way” you cried out. Shenzi started to tap her chin “hmmmmm…”
