Chapter #9

Sudden Understanding

Cream gasped and fell to her knees after reading those words, as instantly she was overcome with a burst of knowledge and understanding of what they meant. This book could rewrite the very fabric of reality, a concept that no child should ever be burdened with. By picking up the pen and looking into the book...Cream was now in charge of the whole world, the whole universe even!

She took a moment to catch her breath, the recoil she felt from the sudden shift in her mental acuity caused her heart to beat uncomfortably fast, which caused Cheese to react in a way that indicated he was very concerned for the young girl. "Chao! Chao chao chao chao!"

"I-I'm...I'm okay Cheese." Cream slowly stood up, her heartbeat starting to settle as she looked back towards the book, now sitting on the rock innocently as if nothing had happened. Except obviously it had. Cream was now keenly aware that all she had to do was write something down inside the book, and depending on how she wanted it to happen, reality would either completely shift as if what she wrote was always how things were, or she could create sudden changes that the world would be aware of.

What a gift - or curse, depending on who was asked - to be given to a girl who had only recently turned 6 years old. "Cheese," Cream said with a very serious tone. "This book, I know what it does...it's like a wishing book! Anything I write will come true! Think of all the people I could help with it! I could make it so no one in the world will ever be hungry or sick or sad ever again!"

"Chao chao chao?"

"You're right...I should test it to be sure...but what should I do?"
