Mr. Kintobotnik flew the SCAS towards Anna's right hand, since we're facing her right side. We observe as Anna's hand becomes humongous as we land. What once was a person's hand became a desert of beige flakes. Tiny hairs on her hand became tall, orange, leafless trees.
Once we landed, Mr. Kintobotnik said to us, “Welcome, class, to the skin!"
Everyone on the SCAS Iook at the scenery in amazement. Students take out their phones and take pictures.
Meanwhile, Anna glorified in watching the SCAS land on her hand.
"Whoa!” she said in amazement. “Reminds me of that Powers of 10 documentary I saw in class."
Everyone heard Anna's comment on the SCAS, from the outside world and from Mr. Kintobotnik's phone. Everyone began to agree with her, some kids nodding their heads in agreement.
"Looks like you're not the only one!' Mr. Kintobotnik said to Anna via his phone.
Suddenly, she's shocked to hear her teacher talk to her. She tells him, “Wait - how can you hear me? You're at, like, microscopic size!"
“We're live streaming this, y'know,” Mr. Kintobotnik answered.
“Oh, yeah,” she replied.
While they were talking, we saw some of the flakes take off.
"Mr. Kintobotnik?” asked Carlos. “What are those flakes?"
"Those are some of Anna's dead skin cells,” answered Mr. Kintobotnik. “She's shedding them to make way for newer skin cells to take their place."
"I never thought my skin would do that,” Anna replied.
"Everyone's skin does that,” Mr. Kintobotnik responded. “It's a cell thing!"
As the dead skin cells shed away, some newer cells can be seen. Some kids wanted to go in the opening. Others wanted to see where the dead skin cells go once they shed. Anna suggests reenacting the Powers of 10 documentary on the livestream.
