It seemed to be a regular enough day in the city of Vale, however, in a seemingly abandoned warehouse some sinister plans were beginning to form. Various goons and henchmen belonging to the criminal underworld of Vale, or the White Fang were busy with various tasks, be it stocking up piles of stolen dust, attempting to activate stolen technology from the Atlas Military, or generally working to serve their new leader.
The new leader in question was Cinder Fall, the raven-haired fall maiden as mysterious as she was beautiful, however she wasn’t the only name of note in the warehouse, along with her were various others, Roman Torchwick, Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black, along with one other name of note.
Sitting next to Roman on a crate of dust as he smoked a cigar was his mute henchwoman and partner in crime, also known as Neopolitan. The girl was tiny, just about 4”6 feet tall, she had pink and brown hair, with some white streaks down the middle. The girl was currently sharping her weapon of choice, a parasol known as Hush, containing a hidden blade, and a rapier.
Soon however, things took a rather strange turn, Neo’s pink and brown eyes quickly turned white in surprise, the tiny criminal flinching back suddenly as a strange pop-up appeared in front of her, it almost looked like something that would normally be contained in a computer interface, yet there was no screen in front of her.
Ever observant, Roman turned to look at his partner, raising an eyebrow as he noticed Neo flinch back, “Something the matter kid?” He asked, causing her to turn and glare at him, never a fan of being called ‘kid’. She may be short, but she was a grown adult! She elbowed him, causing the master criminal to yelp. “Watch it!” He grumbled, dropping his cigar and stomping it out with his boot.
Neo blinked in confusion as Roman ignored the interface entirely, walking right through it, she reached forward to try and grab at his coat, however Roman continued to ignore her as she missed, causing the mute menace to huff, looking at the strange interface with a puzzled expression. What on Remnant was this thing?! Why could only she see it?
Looking closer, she noticed the large text at the top of the interface, which read ‘Begin Rewriting Reality?’ in bold text. Neo leaned forward, looking even more interested now. What on Earth did that mean?
She looked left and right, nobody in the warehouse seemed to even notice her, Cinder was barking orders at the various henchmen, Emerald following her around like a loyal lapdog, meanwhile Roman and Mercury looked to have gotten into an argument of some kind, shouting loudly at each other as Roman looked beyond infuriated. She rolled her eyes.
With a smirk, knowing nobody could stop her, Neopolitan reached forward to activate the strange program with a gloved hand, hoping to assume control of Remnant itself!
…Unfortunately, she had no such luck.
BEGINNING REALITY RANDOMISATION… The interface read, causing Neo’s eyes to widen, and turn white in shock for the second time that day.
Without warning, everything began to turn white, whether it was Neo’s vision, or the world itself, the tiny criminal couldn’t tell, all she could do was squeeze her eyes shut and brace herself as things began to change…
The question remained- What was it that changed about reality?
