Peter Hale is often considered a villain due to his actions, however one could also see it as justified revenge for his family. He is a logical man, who knows how to make the tough decisions when they need to be made. He also knows when it is time to fight and when to talk. By being less cruel, and showing more positive outcomes, he could have easily created a good pack.
Derek Hale is a young man who has experienced to much hardship, yet has come back determined. While possessing a self-deprecating, he knows that those in his pack matter. In a way if he had been more open to his packmates, less focused on the training and instead on emotional connections, many of the issues that he had with his pack would not have occurred and the pack would still there.
Combine the two, and it would be something else. With Derek as the main Alpha, and Peter as the Left-Hand, logic would be met emotion. Bluntness with subtlety. It would be a pack that would be able to protect Beacon Hills.
