Jonny used to just be a pretty average kid. He didn't draw the eye or stand out from the crowd. He wasn't the centre of attention; just average.
Average build, decent height, normal boys interests. He had his small group of friends but never exactly struck it lucky with the ladies. A part of him had always desired something more. Something better.
What he got was something even he couldn't imagine. After a freak accident in science class, he stumbled upon a way to take control of the bodies and minds of whoever he desired. After the initial astonishment, Jonny used it to fulfil the deep desires he'd harboured in school.
But his was only the mind of a teenager. He didn't think much beyond his current life. And as quickly as the powers came, they disappeared.
Only when he lost his powers did Jonny realise what he had. And what he could have done.
From there, he disappeared into himself for a while. He became a recluse, finishing school with decent grades finding himself enrolled into a decent college.
From there, he tried to break himself out of his depressive slump and start again. For a while, it worked. He gained a new set of friends and began to reinvent his life. As time went on, he began to find some contentment and peace again.
But secretly, he couldn't help but harbour the thoughts he once had when he had his powers. He looked at people through the lense of what he could make them do as opposed to who they were. But the logical side of him told him that the time for that had passed.
However, just as he was getting used to life without these powers again, fate dealt him a hand. It was as if he was meant to find the stone, to rediscover the ability he once held.
Since that day, there had been no going back. 10 years had passed and Jonny's life had never been the same...
