One of the benefits of being on a California class cruiser like the Gilbreth is people don’t get diseases where half their bodies turn into a spider. But they do get morning sickness if they’re pregnant. Or whatever the Andorian equivalent of morning sickness is.

Such was the case with Lt jg Shrona Th’mpola, who was scheduled to be in charge of engineering for the Gamma shift.
