This choice: Daisy somehow interacts with someone watching the movie • Go Back...Chapter #6Watching Daisy by: Unknown In January 2006, fourteen year old Kevin Winslet was about to get two items in the mail that would have a major impact on his life.
And not just his.
Kevin was an eight grader who attended the Red Knot Consolidate School System, in Red Knot, Mississippi, a small town in northeastern Mississippi, in the westernmost foothills of the southern Appalachians.
Nobody in the small town thought there was anything unusual about Kevin. He was an average kid as far as sports, classes and everything else which a young kid was judged on in a rural area. He had green eyes, brown hair, and was only fair skinned because it was the middle of winter. He was five foot nine, having just hit a growth spurt, and looked as gangly and uncoordinated as the growth spurt had made him.
Kevin was also taking a keen interest in girls.
Which is why he had ordered the two things in the mail that he had.
One of the items was a DVD of the movie The Dukes of Hazzard. Like many a boy his age (and men much older), Kevin had taken a keen interest in 26 year old Jessica Simpson. Kevin very much wanted to watch a bikini clad Jessica Simpson walk around. Unfortunately for Kevin, his father was only willing to pay for basic cable service, which meant it would be at least a year, and probably more, before The Dukes of Hazzard made it to the viewing channels available to Kevin. In addition, there were no music video channels in the basic cable package, so Jake couldn't watch the music video Jessica made for the movie.
Kevin could have bought the DVD at the Dollar Market, but as the only son of a widower on the road a lot, a number of elderly woman in the rural community kept an eye on him. So there was no way Kevin could walk into the store and buy a DVD with a scantily clad Jessica Simpson on its cover.
So Kevin got a money order and bought the DVD through the mail.
At the same time he bought the DVD, Kevin saw a pair of glasses advertised in one of his comics that looked remarkably like those old style X-Ray glasses. They weren't advertised as being able to see through things, though. The advertisement promised the glasses would provide a "unique television viewing experience."
Normally, Kevin would have just ignored such advertisements, but something about the glasses intrigued him.
So at the end of January 2006. Kevin had the DVD, the special glasses and the house to himself for two weeks.
(So does Kevin's adventures involve Jessica Simpson, or the character she plays, Daisy Duke?) indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
