Experimentation

Shawna takes the remote out of its box and begins examining it. A majority of features on the remote she recognizes. They're pretty much identical to the ones you can find on any so-called universal remote. But a few were truly unique. She didn't even recognize the lettering on the buttons.

As luck or fate would have it, Shawna had left her television on before leaving her apartment that day. Shawna casually points the remote at the television and presses one of the weird buttons on the remote.
