Well, you might as well go and see Irida. After all, you get along with her just as great as you do Akari. It’s kinda fun teasing her about her clan and the deity they worship. Now, where would Irida be though?
That was the question, and you walked around a good portion of the school trying to find her. Eventually, you found the sandy blonde right outside near the courts. Sitting down on a bench and reading a book. It was a really old book, which is a funny contrast. A pretty girl reading a book that looks like it can crumble in her hand. Although she was reading it with an engaged face.
“What you reading?” You say as Irida looked up. Seeing you approach as you give her a kind wave.
“Nothing.” She said looking back at the book.
“Come on you can tell me.” You say to her sitting beside her.
“Why so you can make fun of me?” She said.
“So it does have something to do with your clan.” Yeah, you may mock her clan more than you should.
“It’s an old scripture from my family’s library. They want me to read through it before I inherit the clan.” She has big shoes to fill.
“A-All of that. It’s bigger than even a textbook.”
“And has a lot more boring words.” She joked with you. “But I got to do it. It’s kinda a fun read when I understand the words.” You chuckle at her joke as you sit beside her.
“Well, let’s do something then.” You say to her. “That girl Selene apparently has an Ice Hockey table in her room. Let’s ask if we can play.”
“I can’t.” She said.
“Come on. I know your clans are important, but I am too right.”
“Hmm, my family and everyone I love, or a guy who makes fun of my clan. Tough choice.” She said giving you a sly smile.
That sounded like a no if you have ever heard one.
“It’s not your clan I am making fun of. A clan sounds cool. It’s the thing you people think is real. The god from space.”
“It’s a god, who can control space. I-it’s different.” She said. She doesn’t like speaking about it, cause she does kind of get mocked for it.
“Do you believe in him?” You say to Irida. “Or her I guess?”
“I do,” Irida said. “So can you please not make fun of it.” She looked at you seriously, and you took the hint.
“Fine, no more jokes.” You say to her. She thanked you and returned to her book. Since she’s gonna sit here reading the book, you might as well join. You scoot your way closer to her, as you start to try to read it with her.
“Is it... a picture book?”
“It’s ancient lettering.” She chuckled to you.
“Why do all of the letters have eyes?”
“They are Unknown.” She said to you. “Want me to read it to you?”
You give her a nod, as she faced you holding the book.
‘As they descended down upon the heavens, with words constructed from one thousand arms, a special rend is started. Twisting and forming this land, this reality to thou’s desire. First were the fields, which were raised from the earth. The second was the oceans, dropped from the cloud. The third was the trees, brought from us, a gift from the one above. T-”
She stopped as she looked at you. “Lost you didn’t I?”
“The words Spacial Rend sound cool. Like a final move from a video game.” She chuckled at your joke. “What’s that thing on the back cover say.” You say looking at the letters.
Irida’s eyes went wide as she closed the book. “Oh, I didn’t even know there were words back here.” You look at her, as she rolled her eyes. “I only got this the morning. Back off.”
“What does it say?” You ask her.
“It says...” She leaned in closer. “Property of the Pearl clan by Snowpoint Temple. Please return if found.”
You laughed at this, much to her annoyance. However, she continued. “Only those from the Pearl Clan may listen to the stories inside. Otherwise, their space will be reduced?” You look at her, of course, confused.
“Space Reduced?”
“I don’t know. it’s old so some of it doesn’t make s-... What the!!”
You look at her shocked expression as first you were confused. However, you noticed why. Glowing. Glowing purple, not only you but the whole space surrounding you. You jump off the bench as you look at yourself.
“I-Irida! What kind of spooky voodoo crap did you put on me!”
“I-it’s the book! I read it to you!”
“I-I wasn’t even listening!” You shout at her, stunned in purple. “I didn’t hear.”
“You can’t LIE TO A BOOK!” Irida said hand to her mouth as she watched it.
Watched you... get reduced. Your body shrunk down in size, getting pulled closer and closer, your space was condensed.
Looking up to Irida, you were stunned as you came smaller and smaller. Within seconds you were half the height of your friend, who you usually were a head taller than her!
Being shrunken down in size, smaller and smaller until you were down by her sandals. You were stunned, looking around at the world. The purple around your body now fading, as it seems to have done what it wanted. You were stunned looking at the world, but even more, stunned looking at Irida now.
She was... a giantess! Towering over you. She was smaller than you before, but now she was a towering giantess that you can’t even compete with!
She looked down, an apologetic look on her face, as she knows the book is the reason for shrinking you. “W-Well... at least we know it’s not just a load of Bidoof now, don’t we?” She said trying to chuckle, but you were stunned looking up to her.
