Chapter #4

Get on with your day and forget about the ring

"Good morning, Mark" you heard someone say from right behind you. You jumped a little and turned to see Sarah an attractive coworker from a few cubicles down the line. She smiled at you which made your heart skip a beat. To say you were attracted to her was an understatement. Unfortunately, that was a one way attraction. She didn't really seem to be interested in you as more than an office friend. But as long as she smiled at you like that, you would be happy.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." she said.

"You didn't. Scare me that is." you say trying to laugh it off and hoping that she believed you.

"Oh, okay. Must have been my imagination." she said followed by a wink. "So, how was your weekend? Didn't you say something about having a date or something?"

"No, not really a date. I went with my cousin to her friend's wedding as her plus one."

"Ouch. I suppose it could have been worse though: she could have been your plus one to a friend's wedding." Sarah said and then she giggled. You didn't find it terribly funny especially considering that exact thing had happened a couple of months back.

"Well, I suppose I better get to my desk. Those expense reports aren't going to reconcile themselves." Sarah said as she turned to walk away.

For half an instant you considered calling her back but you couldn't think of any excuse to spend more time with her before she was too far away for it not to be awkward. You watched her walk away. Admiring her ass in that tight skirt she was wearing was almost worth not continuing the conversation.

"Damn." you whispered to yourself. "I wish I could get in her skirt."

As soon as the words were out you saw a flash of light from the ring on your finger and you had the sudden thought that maybe this wishing ring wasn't fake after all. But what was the result of your wish?
