Chapter #3Go train by: NVR It was training day so Ino prepared herself for a tough session, today it was taijutsu which was her weakest area so with a sigh she prepared herself to at least beat her own records, knowing she would need a lot more in actual battle scenarios to be able to beat most shinobi and kunoichi out there anyway.
Even if her teammates weren't amazing with taijutsu either, they were men so it was kinda pointless to spar with them and instead Ino trained on her own most of the time, focusing more on being able to resist enemy attacks than to made physical attacks a reliable weapon in her arsenal. However, she looked with surprise as her favourite spot to train was already busy by none other than Tenten, the weapons expert in her generation.
"Hi Tenten, what's up?"
"Oh? Ino, it's you. Just training, found this nice place today so I think I will make it into my main site after that idiot Lee ruined my former one"
It took Ino by surprise that not only her secret spot for training was found, but that Tenten planned to make it permanently into her site. Ino didn't want to give up her space at all, after months there she could tell how to get the best of her training and use the natural resources around her to practice her punches, kicks and chakra control. But she also really didn't want to cause trouble, specially with someone she didn't know that well like Tenten. If this was Sakura then sure, she would kick her ass and sent her home crying with her panties over her head, but she didn't have the confidence to pull such a stunt outright with Tenten.
"You see Tenten, I had been training here for a while already" Ino ventured, but only got Tenten inquisitive gaze as a reply
"You have? I haven't seen any marks around that suggested serious training so.." Tenten cut herself when noticing Ino's reaction. She knew the kunoichi with the mind ninjutsu skills wasn't so adept at taijutsu but she really thought the place was empty.
"There are! you can see here and there and here too!" Ino pointed at multiple spots that Tenten checked earlier but she kept herself politely quiet instead of making any other comment that could be interpreted as mocking. Just as Ino seemed useless in taijutsu, Tenten was fairly useless at other things too.
"Oh, alright then, think we could share?" Tenten suggested
"I.. I don't want to" Ino pouted, knowing that she didn't have a good excuse not to
"What if we fight for it?" Tenten asked surprising herself. She wouldn't go that far normally, but this place had so much potential and Ino was just... not fulfilling it
"Huh?" Ino perked at the idea, believing a new sparring partner, and a bet, could be fun for the day "What's in it for me though?"
"Simple, the winner gets the spot for the week, deal?"
"But no weapon scrolls, right?" Ino said, feeling unprepared for that kind of barrage. Maybe on another day, she just wanted to check where her taijutsu was at
"Fair, just taijutsu then, deal?" Tenten insisted
"And the loser?"
"I guess we can decide later" Tenten smiled and Ino smirked too, feeling this was a good challenge.
