My phone vibrates, and I can feel my heart racing as I realize it is a text from Jess. Even though we had been friends for a long time, she still makes me nervous. Jess is the most attractive girl I know, with a pretty face, long blonde hair, brown eyes, and a slender body. Of course, I never have told her. I don’t want to ruin our friendship, plus she is way out of my league. Further, I don’t have the courage to do it.
I read the text and see that Jess has invited me to hang out. Not wanting to seem too eager, I wait a few minutes before responding. It takes me a while to word my text, so it doesn’t sound too cheesy. I end up going with “Sure! I will be over as soon as I can.” Then I proceed to get ready, debating what outfit to wear. I settle with my soft but stylish black pants, a clean white shirt, and a denim jacket. Quickly I do my hair, brush my teeth, and spray on some cologne.
Before leaving, I decided to bring the shrinking elixir with me. I think it might impress Jess. Plus, I just have to show it to someone else; it is too cool to keep to myself. I slip the two bottles into my pocket and hop on to my bike.
