Even after agreeing to his brother's request, he paused, surprised that the name 'Andy' had come to him. But, he knew that Andy was his brother's name. An impatience glance from his brother brought Cody's attention back to the present. "Okay, now..." He said awkwardly as he began to push his right hand into the mattress and clench the abdominal muscles he had control over. He and Andy were now sitting up right with their feet touching the soft carpet.
It was a strange sight to see two different feet stick out from the same pair of jeans. It was stranger still when the left foot, which used to have been his alone, gripped the carpet. "We're like two half-bodies stuck together." Andy commented. He had a silly grin on his face. "Guess we'll really have to rely on our twin telepathy."
For a moment, he thought the comment was serious. 'Did we have twin telepathy?' Cody asked himself. But the gleam in his brother's eyes gave away the intended joke. "Wouldn't that be nice..." He matched his brother's grin. "But gosh, I couldn't imagine having your voice in my head all the time."
"Whatever, not like this will be much different. We'll always be together now, for better or worse." Andy commented.
Cody wondered for a moment what his brother meant by that. He felt like those words were more than simply paraphrasing wedding vows, but the memory of that significance did not surface. Looking at his brother, he did not feel any romantic or lustful draw to him, and he did not sense anything remotely like that from Andy towards him. That made him suddenly curious why he and his brother would choose this then, at least according to what Andy seemed to claim. Cody made a mental note to be careful with any other wishes. The golden coins were more complex with their wish fulfillment then he had originally thought. Just from his simple desires, it seemed to have changed his world drastically, and even more so, some new memories were lazily floating to the surface.
Andy pressed his hand into his side of their abdomen, just to the left of a single belly button. Cautiously, he slowly dragged his finger tips across the thin line where his skinned lighted into Cody's. He then brought his hand back to his side. "Man, I really can't feel anything once I cross that... what's the word... threshold between us."
"You said it well first... we're like two half-bodies mashed together now." Cody replied. He placed his hand between their two shoulders, "But I think there is a small liine where we're kind of like one person. Where our nerves interlace."
"Yeah, I can feel your touching our shared shoulder, and I guess you can too." Andy brought his left hand, hovering over the button to the pair of jeans they shared. "If that line runs along our entire body now... Should we see what down under looks like first... or figure out if our three-legged race skills transition over to actually sharing a body?"
