Swap Gremlin Infestation

Swap Gremlins are an interdimensional pest, able to open rifts between our reality and their own. They so quick they can be in and out of a room with a blink of an eye, as such no one knows what they look like. They have the power to remove people's body parts, leaving smooth skin where they were detached. Remarkably, their victims are able to survive no matter what part was removed. The gremlins are also able to attach other people's parts onto others, hence their name. Where things get even weirder is they can put any part they detach, anywhere on the body.

No one knows how to undo the damage of a swap gremlin or how to get rid of them, all people can do is hope they leave them relatively normal. They usually stick to one building and target places with lots of people. Dorms and apartment buildings are a favourite. The don't seem to like children or the elderly.

It is recommended to move as soon as you encounter a swap gremlin before your life is damaged too much. Though the creatures are smart and will undo their changes from time to time to install a false sense of security. They also let their human victims live a reasonably normal life when they leave the building, swapping or removing things that can be hidden to the outside world. They don't like letting their victims move.

For one apartment building, they would need to learn to live with the creatures.
