The story of Teddy Cutter and Cindy was an urban myth, no one knew what town it took place in or what year it happened. The story had changed too, to the point that Teddy was never human and always a dream demon and that Brad's ex wanted revenge on Cindy so summoned Teddy to remove her mouth and breasts. Once it had worked she went mad with power and summoned Teddy to go after all her victims, until someone figured it out and asked Teddy to take her head.
This version of the Myth was actually started by Teddy himself, he could only target those who he wanted revenge on and if it were to be complete, he would have nothing left tying him to Earth and he didn't want to move on. So with the last few victims he made them tell the urban myth so that he could answer to anyone who summoned him.
All someone had to do to summon him into their dreams was say his name while naked in front of a mirror and say what they wanted taken or swapped. Teddy was always happy to obey the first request but once summoned he could stick around for a week, changing the person who called him and their named person.
