Flavius sighed. He loved Eric, but even he wasn't about to go to that much effort just to get a cellphone back. He'd just steal it from Jake's house or somethin'. Yeah that'd do.
He left Eric's house that night and flitted across town, blipping from block to block in a series of bright, golden flashes of light, until he finally materialised on the roof of Jake's house. He could hear voices inside.
"Jaaa-aaake! Diiii-nner!"
"Comin' mom!"
Flavius was hanging off the gutter and peering in through Jake's bedroom window. He watched the boy hurry out of his bedroom and downstairs. He waved a hand and slid open the window, before popping inside. He stared around and then started ransacking the entire place, tearing books off the shelves, throwing open his wardrobe and flipping the stuff out of his desk to try and find Eric's phone. Finally, he picked up what looked like a whole pillowcase full of...
Jackpot!
He opened the pillowcase and peered inside. It was full of phones, watches, and other stuff, clearly lifted from kids at school.
Flavius recognised Eric's phone, fished it out from the sack, put it into his pocket. Then, he tipped all the other contents of the sack onto the floor. He started picking out various bits and pieces which he recognised, to return to their owners, and then flashed out of Jacob's room just as...
"JACOB WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING IN HERE!?" a woman's voice shouted.
Flavius laughed as he hid up on the roof.
--- --- --- ---
"Psst!"
"Urgh?"
"HEY!"
"WAURGH!!...Jeez!...Flavius don't SCARE me like that!!"
"I got your phone, bruh".
"H...Oh! Yeah thanks!"
Eric sat up in bed and stared at his phone, "Oh man! Thanks!...What's that?"
He stared at what looked like a dozen wristwatches strapped to Flavius's left arm, and the pockets of his clothes bulged with rectangular shapes.
"Uh...I kinda lifted a few other things..." he said, "You'll give these back, right? They're all belonging to friends of yours..."
"Yeah sure! Thanks! Hey, me and Ryan are goin' out tomorrow, 'cause it's Saturday...uh...y-you wanna come along? I'd love it if you could..." he said.
