"Timmy, come along, sweetheart!"
Timmy hurried after his mother and father, while Eric jogged after his brother.
"Hey! You forgot this!"
Eric waved his little brother's plush-bunny. Timmy snatched it and cuddled it and put it into his backpack and kissed it before zipping it up.
"Come along kids!" said Eric's father, "This way! Al, Susie!"
"Hey Bob!" said Ryan's father. "This is some rowboat, huh!?"
Eric watched as his father and Ryan's father chatted. They were early. The ship wasn't due to depart for another hour.
"Where's Ryan?" Eric demanded.
"He's just coming!" said Ryan's mother. She pointed across the street where Ryan had been using the toilet in a nearby gas-station. He jogged across the road to join the others.
"Hey!" said Ryan, "This is so awesome! C'mon!"
"Hold up, kids! Don't forget your bags!" said Ryan's father. The two boys grabbed their roller-cases and headed towards the gangway, with Timothy jogging after them pulling his own case behind him.
"Good morning, boys!" said the officer standing at the gangway, "Welcome aboard the Diamond Princess! Tickets, please!"
The boys handed over their boarding-passes.
"Excellent! Yep, yep...yep! All aboard! You're on deck 2! Morning sir, ma'am".
"Son, slow down!" said Bob, as Eric jogged ahead. The three boys rushed towards an elevator and pressed the button. The four adults joined the kids and they rode up in the lift.
"This is going to be amazing!" said Susie, turning to Eric's mother. "Two weeks of sun, food, amazing views, all kinds of things to do! Al and I are going to enjoy every minute of it!"
"Yeah, and if we can get out of the cabin often enough, we might see some of it..."
"ALLAN!!"
Bob laughed and his wife groaned.
"Here we are kids! Deck two...now..."
Bob checked his tickets. "Mom and I are in 2-12...you three are in 2-14...and Al, you and Susie are in..."
"We're in 2-16, so we're either side of the kids' cabin".
"Excellent! This way..."
Eric waited for his father to give him their key-cards, and then they swiped and headed inside.
"Wow!" said Eric, as they hurried in. There were two beds in here, one single, and one double.
"Wait, we're sharing?" said Ryan.
"Apparently!" said Eric, as he checked out the bathroom, and the shower. Timothy opened the door to the balcony and went outside to look at the view.
"Woooow!" he said. He unzipped his backpack and put his bunny on his bed.
"C'mon, guys!" said Ryan, "Let's go..."
