We all know One More Day, the controversial story imposed by Marvel to reset Peter Parker's character, in which Aunt May is killed by a sniper, and to save her life, Peter and Mary Jane make a deal with the Devil Mephisto, sacrificing their magic to save May, in the eyes of many fans ruining most of what came after.
Some of us know of the what if story where Mary Jane died and Peter brutalised Kingpin. But what about another story, in which Mary Jane and May watched in horror as Peter was shot by a sniper.
Like canon, Mary Jane ended up cutting a deal with Mephisto to bring Peter back, however, because Peter could not consent, the devil could not take the marrige from the couple (blocking his plan to erase the Spider Woman who was destined to defeat him) but he found something else that Mary Jane loved, while not as much as her marriage, still enough that losing it would cause her pain; her figure.
And so Peter was restored to life, and Mary Jane returned to him with no memory of his death, or her deal. However she also carried something else; a curse. With every waking hour Mary Jane suffered from an overwhelming hunger, one that no ammount of eating could fully sate. And as she indulged this hunger, she would grow; cursed fat that could not be burned off. This hunger would remain until such time that her weight was so immense that she was unable to move, unless she tried to have that fat removed, in which case the hunger would return until she was 20 pounds heavier than her current max weight.
(And if between some level of learning from example and the possibility of lingering parts of the curse spreading to her, Mayday Parker may end up following in her mothers's footsteps in her later adolesnece, redering her unable to fight him, well that's just a bonus)
How will the Parkers deal with Mary Jane's growing figure? And if we imagine that this gets pushed through in a hypothetical alternate Marvel because they've fallen under the sway of someone with a major Fat Fetish, will we see other ladies gain?
