Chapter #2Ascension of Necessity by: Dread There are patches of ivy that grow along the side of the house. Your friend's mom, Dianne, always fussed about it and asking your friend to remove them but his lazy ass never went through with it. Now it works to your advantage. At normal size the ivy would never support you, but at this size, you feel confident you can get up it just fine. The good thing about this is that you can make it straight to the room where you know the device is and try to look for it before you become too small. If worse goes to worse, you can get your friend to help you search for it by getting his attention.
You go back to the porch steps and lower your legs down each one before dropping down to avoid turning your ankle and complicating the situation. You then walk down the sidewalk, at first in broad daylight until you see a bird flying overhead and you are reminded that a hawk could easily swoop you away if you aren't careful. You need to think like you are a rodent at this point if you want to survive long enough to get to the remote.
You reluctantly get into the waist high grass as you can see bugs the size of squirrels scurry away from you. Although they are much bigger and scarier looking, you are still bigger than them and thus draw out their flight responses. You trudge through the grass and into the house-sized bushes below the windows. You are shielded from the sunlight as you see a softball that resembles a small meteorite lodged into one of the bushes high above. You are finally at the base of the house and at the first bits of vine-like ivy that event far above. You will need to climb quite a bit to reach the first story windows, nevertheless the second story where your friend is. You aren't a particularly strong climber and heights aren't your favorite but you know that the alternative will be worse.
Hand over hand you climb up each vine and things are seeming a little easy as you get up to the first story windows. You have to swing to over vines when you get too close to the top of one and its like playing some kind of unique rock climbing event except you don't have safety harnesses and can lose your life pretty easily with how high you are. As you continue working your way up, you start feeling strange. You go from holding the vine in your hands to having to hug the vine as you suffer a significant shrinking spurt! You are basically a bug now as you clench the vine tightly. Although you are more than halfway there, the distance to your friend's room feels so daunting. You can't just stay here and hug the vine until you shrink again, so you shimmy yourself up for a much slower climb.
That's when you hear the sound of the front door opening. Someone is walking outside. You look to see a red headed milf with a white tank top and jean capris walk out as her brown sandals crushes the grass. Dianne, your friend's mom! Even from up here, you can tell she is huge! She is carrying a trash bag in one hand as she walks towards where you are. You are wondering what she is doing as she goes between some of the bushes under you and looks up towards your direction before reaching up. She grabs a handful of ivy with her red painted nails and uses her incredible strength to rip them off the wall! The ivy is basically lined in columns and several columns from the one you are on, that particular vine is yanked at breakneck speed as the giantess stuffs it in the trash bag before repeating the act.
You try to hurry up, realizing that your vine will soon be confiscated and you can risk falling to your death, being inadvertently crushed into your friend's mom's goddess-like hand, or lost in a bag of detritus. You try your best but Dianne is faster as column after column falls. You watch as she grabs the vine you are on and you hold on tight screaming as it sways. The giantess pulls and you are ready for the end until the ivy vine snaps off just below you as she is only able to grab part of the vine.
Dianne lets out a booming expletive that echoes through the air as she places a hand on her hip and seemingly stares up at you with a scowl before forcefully throwing the vine into the bag. Your safe! You watch as the giantess leaves the bag on the ground and walks away in what amounts to an admission of defeat as you continue to clamber up the vine to the window looming above. As you get closer you hear clanking noise and look down to see Dianne with a metal ladder in her hand! She walks back under you and places the ladder against the wall before lifting her flip flop clad feet onto the first step and then the next step.
You are so close to the ledge, you feel you can almost just reach up and grab it! As you continue climbing a dark shadow blots out much of the sunlight and you run around to see a jungle of red hair followed by an enormous forehead filled with pores, micro-wrinkles, and brown freckles before a piercing blue eyes races above you and a massive nose, and lips. Dianne seems to be looking right at you as her gigantic hand reaches to grasp you! With it being now and never, you jump onto the window sill of your friend's window just before the goddess's pale hand crushes the vine and then rips it out before letting it fall to the ground. You are now at a side view of watching the giantess as she climbs back down the ladder, unaware of the ant-like young man that was right under her nose and almost crushed in her hand.
With the window open, you get inside and find yourself finally able to breathe. You look around to see a new world containing a dresser with a TV on top and video game controllers on the ground, a large bed, and computer desk. The room smells like energy drinks and sweat as you search for the remote. If it isn't on the window sill then it fell into the carpet below which will complicate your search. So you decide to...
