Chapter #5A male Pikachu named Harper. by: Espiofan   Alexander quickly hid behind a rock as he heard a voice coming from the pond's entrance. He carefully peaked to see who was the intruder.
"Hello? Is someone here?"
Alexander saw a pikachu entering the cave, who he quickly recognised as an explorer for the badge hanging on his deep blue scarf. "Don't be afraid, i mean no harm." The pikachu seemed to be looking for someone but it had not noticed Alex yet.
The riolu stayed hidden, considering what to do. He could just wait and the pikachu would eventually go away, but after a while he thought that it would be best to show up. Maybe it was the desire to test his powers, maybe it was pure decency, or maybe it was just because he considered the pikachu cute. It didn't mattered now, as he came out to confront the pikachu.
"H-hello, can i help you." Alex said, still unsure about the whole thing.
The adventurer turned to the riolu surprised. "Oh hello, i didn't see you there. Sorry if i'm intruding, im in a mission to rescue a lost pokemon from a mystery dungeon."
"No need to apologize, i don't own this cave after all." Alex said as he went down from the rock to where the pikachu stood. "So you are an adventurer i presume."
The pikachu's eyes glowed with excitement. "You suppose right. Im an official member of the Guild of Heroes, and proud leader of Team Thunder... which only has one member. But regardless, i am here to save a pokemon in peril from the claws of evil." The adventurer said proudly, exuding enthusiasm.
"So what are you doing in this part of the cave? The mystery dungeon its on the other side of the cave."
"I... may got a little lost on the way there." The pikachu said embarrassed but with a smile on his face.
Alexander facepalmed, this adventurer wasn't very clever but at least he compensated it with spirit.
"Hey, you seem to know this place very well. How about you join me and we save that pokemon together?" He said with enthusiasm.
Alex however, wasn't too keen on the idea. "Look, i may be a fighting type but i am not exactly suited for battle. So i have to decline your offer."
"Ohhh come on, don't worry about that, you just mark the way and ill protect you as is my duty as a member of the Guild of Heroes." The pikachu said proudly.
The riolu however, was unfaced. "No."
The explorer's smile quickly fade away, reemplaced with a disappointed sigh.
"Ok look, i will be honest with you. I can't do this alone, i'm more of a punches guy than a brains guy, so i could use some help from someone like you. As i said earlier, i am a one man group, i don't have anyone else to rely on, so please... i'll even split the reward 50/50, please please..."
The pikachu made a hard bargain, it was hard to say no when someone like him made those puppy eyes. So against his better judgment, he accepted the offer.
"Make it 60/40, i will not fight and you will not make anything stupid. Deal?"
The pikachu's eyes filled with excitement as he quickly grabbed the riolu's hand.
"You got a deal, thankyouthankyou."
The adventurer eagerly shook his hand, until Alex pulled away.
"Oh one thing, i didn't seem to catch your name." The pikachu said.
"Its a Alexander. A pleasure to meet you..."
"I'm Harper, and welcome to team Thunder."
"Im not part of your team." Alexander said grumpily.
"We'll see about that. Ok Alex, lets move." The pikachu said as he prepared to go on.
Now the riolu questioned himself in what mess did he got into. Harper didn't seem bad, but it was clear that it was impulsive and a troublemaker, not things Alex specially liked. Then an idea hit him, he could try to use his powers on the pikachu. He could mind control him so he wouldn't make anything harsh. Or better yet, why not possess him? Harper said it himself, he lacked the brains but he was the muscle, so Alex could just insert his brains in there and make a better explorer out of him. With the two things in a single person, he would have no trouble completing the mission, and as a plus he would get all the reward for himself, besides it would be fun to be an explorer for a while.
And yet, the riolu feel that it wasn't the right thing to do. Harper was a mess yes, but maybe he could get a friend out of him. And just using his powers like that would be something a bad person would do. But it was tempting none the less.
