Considering Jack somewhat knew who Rylee was, he thought going over to her would be the better move over a stranger. Plus, the other girl looked like she would take Jack for a bug. With his mind made up, Jack walked over to Rylee and stood by her feet, contemplating how he was going to climb her, or if he would rather just get her attention from her feet. But just standing about a foot away, which was much further for Jack than, say, Rylee, a strange odor dominated his nostrils. Jack plugged his nose and grimaced, not knowing what it was. Then, as he got closer to Rylee's feet, the smell intensified, and it became apparent what the source of the smell was. Wanting to avoid that at all costs, Jack went around the giant flip flops and went to the leg of Rylee's chair. He tried getting good leverage to get climbing, but unfortunately, her chair was too slippery to get a firm grip. That meant only one option for Jack, and it was the far less pleasant and appealing one.
Jack went back around and stood in front of Rylee's right flip flop. The smell around here was especially pungent. Jack sighed, he really didn't want to do this. Of course, he did have the option to bail and head back to his spot, but Jack thought that since he had come this far, he may as well commit. Lugging himself up onto the flip flop was a challenge in and of itself, but then stood in the way of his path was Rylee's foot. Her toes were wriggling around, and she began to move her foot to and fro, just moving it without thinking about it. Jack had a difficult time keeping his balance, but was able to stay upright, fortunately. He began his climb onto the foot and noticed a thin, moderately noticeable, at least for him, sheen of sweat on Rylee's foot. "That makes sense," Jack thought. Where else would that unusual stench come from? Continuing onward, Jack made decent progress, and was nearly to Rylee's heel, when a drastic movement from her completely altered Jack's course of direction.
The class had ended, and Rylee was heading back to her dorm to get ready and head to the gym for her second session of the day. Typically, she enjoyed going three times, and having three moderately sweaty sessions, but today she only had time for two. She gathered her things, pulled back her chair, and stood up when she felt an odd sensation on her foot. Instead of thinking much of it, Rylee told herself that it would just be another waste of time when she could be getting to the gym, and went to walking.
This critical shift in her movement sent Jack right back down her foot, towards her toes. When at the front of her foot, the momentum he collected sliding down the slick surface of Rylee's skin sent Jack tumbling off her foot. He barely managed to grab onto the edge of her flip flop. Rylee kept walking, oblivious to the fact that somewhat of a familiar student was clinging on for dear life on her flip flop. Despite having initial troubles with hanging on with Rylee's movement, Jack adapted to the movement and felt confident in his ability to stay. He kept steady for Rylee's walk back to her dorm, before her sudden stop in front of her door to unlock it sent him careening over the edge of the flip flop, crashing onto the surface of the footwear.
After closing his eyes during the initial impact, Jack opened them to find himself sliding in between Rylee's big and second big toes. He yelled and tried gripping onto the surface of the flip flop to stop himself, but there was too much sweat to get a good grip and he slid perfectly in between them. Rylee felt this happen, and simply adjusted her foot on the flip flop. This only worsened the problem for Jack, though, as her repositioning sent him into the middle of her flip flop, directly under her sole. Rylee placed her foot back down, but this time, there was definitely something off with her foot.
How does Rylee respond to the problem?
