To Jack's chagrin, the girl didn't think of his emanating outline as anything other than leftover snot and proceeded to completely ball up the tissue. Jack wanted to groan in pain, but he knew that a nice bit of the girl's snot would have flowed into his mouth, so he begrudgingly kept his mouth shut. The student got up from her seat and walked to the back of the room, where the one classroom garbage can lay. Casually tossing the tissue away, she returned to her seat, never once considering her actions as more than casual.
Ironically, the sticky goop that Jack was covered in saved him from a rather rough landing in the garbage can. Though there was a fair lining of discarded items on the bottom of the can, there wasn't enough to really offer a good cushion. Rather, it was the snot that absorbed much of the force of the landing and jiggled around Jack. The tiny guy spluttered and spat, making sure there was none of the snot in his mouth to taste and/or swallow. When he ensured his mouth was safe, Jack worked at getting out of the tissue, pulling out of some of the snot pool, stretching the substance out while pushing the tissue forward. By the time Jack finally got free and stood up, he was battered, fatigued, and sickened. He looked up and was further dismayed. If he wanted to get out of the garbage can, yet another setting that was displeasing, he would have to climb. At the very least, the unaware student's snot could yet again come in handy and act as an adhesive to help him climb the side of the can with stability.
After giving himself a few moments to rest, Jack began his climb. "Screw this, I need to get back to normal," he mumbled. "I bit off a little more than I could chew." He made substantial progress, making it three quarters of the way to the top when trouble came. A shadow suddenly fell over Jack and he paused, snot keeping him adhered to the wall. A student was standing over head, their hand hanging over the side of the can. It seemed as if they weren't paying much attention, though, as their head was turned towards the front of the classroom. The hand began to open, revealing what appeared to be a gum wrapper, the slightest bit of pink slipping outside of the paper. Jack cursed as the used gum fell towards him.
*SMACK*
Comparatively speaking, the discarded gum itself was only about half of Jack's size. Yet, as it gained momentum from falling from above, it hit Jack with plenty of force to send him off the wall and plummeting back to the bottom of the bin.
*SQUELCH*
"Eww!" Jack blurted. He twitched and cringed. He landed right back in the open and still gooey tissue from before, and to add insult to injury, had the piece of gum land squarely on his chest. He wanted to give up right then and there and just go to sleep. However, Jack knew that the bottom of a trash can is no way to have a casual nap, especially considering the rate they fill up in college classrooms. Slowly sitting up, Jack once again freed himself from the tissue and resumed his ascent out of the trash can, with a fresh coat of snot to help him.
Like last time, Jack made it three quarters of the way up the can with ease. However, does something happen this time around, or does Jack make it out safely?
