He need get back transplant so the doctor inserted kangaroo fossils into his back, but this cause him to mutated into monster kangaroo creature, so courage had to stop by turning into kangaroo monster. You can pick which idea you like the most, with the carrot episode your character could be farmer or bystander that bought radioactive vegetables causing you to grow, and the transplant your character got back surgery from cheap doctor, you noticed your getting bigger and your body transforming into something much more aggressive then your original species.
Big sister- a old pilot episode from dexter lab were dexter made radioactive cookies to test on some labs rats, but do deedee sweet tooth she eat one of the cookies causing her grow into 50 foot sister. In this story, you could be lab rat that ate a experimental food causing you to grow, or you as a brother/ sister that noticed your siblings ate something weird that's causing them to grow.
