Dirk jolted awake as the plane shook from turbulence. He sighed, rubbing his eyes. He reached into his pocket. Pulling out his phone to check the time. The screen lights up and he is met with an image of a red flag with a Blue cog in the center. Situated inside the cog was a blue star. Above it was the time.
Dirk was a 29-year-old boy with blonde hair and green eyes. While not too tall. Standing at 5 foot 11. Dirk had an intimidating figure. With broad shoulders and large biceps. Of course one needed to be intimidating if they were to survive being a street kid.
1:00 AM
“Fucking finally” dirk muttered to himself. For the last 14 hours he had been stuck either sitting down sleeping or watching something on his phone. The only time he ever got up was was when he had to use the bathroom.
As middle aged man was situated next to him. He had an average build for a man his age and was adorned with a suit and glasses. The man quickly glanced over at Dirks phone. Upon seeing his wallpaper his expression quickly turned to a scowl. His glaring eyes moved up to Dirks face. Noticing, Dirk turned his head to face him. However the man quickly turned away upon notice that Dirks gaze had everted.
“There a problem sir?” Dirk said rasing his brow.
The man quickly turned back.
The man hastily replied, “No, no problem at all. I was just checking the time,” forcing a smile.
Dirk knew better. He had often encountered such reactions. Dirk Van Der Berg was a Blefusculdian, an ethnicity at odds with the Lilliputians, who had long occupied southern Blefuscul. Ironically, both were collectively known as Lilliputians, a name given by Gulliver upon his discovery.
Dirk just rolled his eyes and leaned back. If he wanted to he could easily have beaten the man to a bloody pulp. But it would have been more trouble than it was worth.
In front of him stuffed in the chair infront of him was a magazine titled “Remembering Dinbo: The biggest domestic terrorist attack in recent history ” . The cover showed the same flag as his wallpaper, but torn in half, juxtaposed with another flag – white with a crown symbol and three blue waves beneath.
[note, this characters story is going to be a lot more narrative driven. Although there will be smutty scenes. It will be more focused on the characters, world, and plot]
