He flunks a grade placement test

Tim's left eyebrow practically jumped into space, as he arched it upward. The notion of a state wide grade placement test that could move people across the education spectrum was utter lunacy. And yet, here the notice about such a test hit his desk. Tim thought maybe the test would get some of the other students held back one maybe two years. But, certainly it couldn't be "across the entire education spectrum" as the notice advertised. The test was next week. Tim would just have to wait and see.
