Ethan and his dad sat in tense silence as the car brought Ethan clsoer and closer to his doom, or more accurately, the daycare center. The silence was broken by his dad suddenly speaking. up. "This'll be good for you, Ethan. Your Pa and I are confident this place won't be nearly as bad as you think." His dad assured him. Ethan sighed, his dads had been saying as much for weeks now, but he didn't believe that for a second! What teenager could have a decent time at a daycare center of all places?! When Ethan didn't respond, it was his dad's turn to sigh. "You promised me and your Pa that you'd at least try to make friends, so just try and keep an open mind." The man requested. They pulled into the parking lot, and the man pulled his son into a brief side hug. "I'll see you later, Ethan. I love you." He kissed the top of his son's head, and the teen sighed. "Yeah, yeah, I'll see you later, Dad...love you too." The teen mumbled that last part, but his dad still heard it. The man ruffled his hair much to the teen's chargin. He escaped his dad's further attempts to embarass him and walked inside of the building.
Immediately he felt relief as he walked into the air conditioned building, thankful for the protection from the sweltering summer heat. "Hi there, you must be Ethan. I'm Alex." A chipper voice greeted, the teen turned his attention the speaker. They looked a little bit older than Ethan did, so the teen guessed they were about highschool aged. "Follow me, I'll help get you sorted." Ethan quietly nodded his assent and followed Alex through a door labeled A.R.R. "Go ahead and pick a room, doesn't matter which. Just go with whichever one feels right to you." The older teen said vaguely, and Ethan bit back a sarcastic comment. He promised his dads that he'd at least try and make some friends, and snapping at Alex wasn't very friendly. Ethan glanced at the different rooms, noticing that they were all labeled with different numbers. Which one did he choose?
